We have carefully compiled a list of the best SmartThings garage door openers for you to choose from. Let's dive into our top picks!
We recently installed the Genie StealthDrive Connect in our garage and were impressed by its ultra-quiet performance. With a steel-reinforced belt and a 1 1/4 HPC DC motor, we no longer have to worry about the opener's noise bothering anyone in the house.
The smart home integration is an added bonus, as we can now control the opener using Alexa, Google Home, and other popular smart home systems. This feature allows us to include the garage door in our daily routines and even use voice commands for added convenience.
The integrated battery backup is an excellent safety feature, ensuring we can still use the garage door opener even during power outages. However, we did find the installation instructions to be a bit unclear, and the app notifications can sometimes be inconsistent. Overall, the Genie StealthDrive Connect is a reliable and high-performing smart garage door opener that is well worth considering for your home.
We recently tested the Meross conversion kit on an older Genie chain-driven opener, and it just plain works. The ability to control the garage door from anywhere using the Meross app is incredibly convenient, especially when we need to let family or guests in while we're away.
Another great feature is voice control compatibility. It doesn't matter if you use SmartThings Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant - this opener works seamlessly with all three, making daily use even more hands-free and enjoyable. We also appreciate the precise and stable sensor performance, ensuring our garage door status is always accurate and up-to-date.
The only downsides we've noticed are the reliance on a stable 2.4 GHz WiFi connection and potential interference with some garage door remotes. If you have a weak WiFi signal in your garage or experience interference, make sure to contact Meross for assistance. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Meross Smart Garage Door Opener has been an excellent addition to our smart home setup.
The Genie B6172H Wall Mount Smart Garage Door Opener is equipped with Aladdin Connect Wi-Fi Smart Technology, allowing you to monitor and control your garage door from anywhere using your smartphone. The built-in camera offers peace of mind, while the smartphone control and integrated LED lighting make it easy to access and use. However, the installation process can be time-consuming and costly, and the camera quality may not be suitable for those looking for a high-end security system.
Overall, we think the Chamberlain Secure Viewâ„¢ Garage Door Opener is a solid investment for those looking for a smart garage door opener with added security features. With its easy-to-use app and advanced technology, you can rest assured that your garage is safe and secure at all times.
After using the Genie Chain Glide Connect Essentials Smart Garage Door Opener, we found it to be very reliable and easy to integrate with our smart home systems. It works with Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings, and many other platforms, allowing us to control it with voice commands or as part of our routines. The heavy-duty chain drive offers durable operation, giving us the confidence that it will stand the test of time.
Installation was straightforward and the included 5-piece rail system snapped together with ease. The lightweight DC motor is powerful enough to handle garage doors up to 7 feet tall, but those with 8-foot doors will need to purchase an extension kit separately. One of the standout features is the bright LED lighting, which doesn't interfere with radio frequencies and provides excellent illumination in our garage.
On the downside, this smart garage door opener is not eligible for international shipping and might not work with higher garage doors without the extension kit. Additionally, some users have reported issues with the safety beam setup, which can be a bit challenging. However, overall, the Genie Chain Glide Connect has proven to be a reliable, feature-packed, and user-friendly garage door opener that we believe is worth considering.
After using the Chamberlain RJO70 Smart Garage Door Opener, we were impressed by the space it saved in our garage thanks to its wall-mounted design. This allowed us to utilize the extra ceiling space for storage, lighting, or even a ceiling fan.
The RJO70 operates smoothly and quietly, almost eliminating any noise and vibrations that traditional garage door openers can cause. This has been a major plus for us, especially since our garage is adjacent to a living space.
Another feature we enjoyed is the ability to monitor and control our garage door from anywhere using the built-in Wi-Fi and myQ App. The app allowed us not only to open and close the door remotely but also to monitor the status and receive notifications.
